What We're All About

Our hope and prayer is that LifeHouse Church will be an inter-denominational, contemporary, fun-loving, people-caring, gospel-sharing, Bible-centered community of Christ followers.

We are a merging of a team from Stonebrook Church in Ames, IA (once belonging to the Great Commission Churches association) and a team of local Christians who share our values and dreams. Christians from every church and non-churched background are involved and are united by our common love and loyalty to Christ and to each other.

Our beliefs are shaped solely by the Bible, but our practices will be culturally aware and personally relevant. We are convinced that the Bible is here not to give us a big head, but to give us a big heart... and before that a new heart.

What We're Trying to Do

Our greatest hope is to meet the genuine needs of people in Decorah and the surrounding communities. We will be active in addressing the social needs of displaced internationals, hurting divorcees, addicted teenagers, and whomever else God puts in our path. The hope we offer is found in discovering a personal and eternal relationship with Jesus Christ. We have personally believed and have experienced the transformational power of faith in Christ in liberating an individual from any sin and giving them a purpose for life that outlasts themselves.
